How to install carpet can be started by measuring the dimension of the room where you want to install the carpet using a ruler or tape measure. After that, lay the carpet in a larger room and cut according to the measurement you have taken. Nail down fastening strips about ¼ inch from the wall starting from the corner along the edge of the floor in the position the teeth towards the wall. Nail the metal door edgings across the doorway. The open side should point inside the room while the teeth should point outside the room. Now, you can unroll the padding across the room with the waffle side up and cut it using a carpet cutting tool. Overlap the fastening strips two inches along the entire wall and staple the padding into place using a staple gun and heavy duty staples. The staples should be attached every 6 inches. Cut the padding at the meeting area with the inner edge once it is in place.
Now, unroll the carpet over the padding and make sure that it overlaps the fastening strips, then slip the carpet at the corners. Using a knee kicker, attach the carpet to the fastening strips starting from the corner. Put the head of the kicker on the carpet an inch from the wall and aim it at the wall angle and start it from the corner. Kneel in the corner with holding the kicker handle in your right hand and use your left hand to hold yourself upright on the floor. Put your weight on the right arm to shove the left knee into the kicker so that the carpet can be pushed and stretched into place. Hook the carpet with the teeth of fastening strips and do it to the whole room. How to install carpet can be challenging, but you can do it easily with enough patience.
